The Dharna staged by the members of the Bachelor of Education (BEd), Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) qualified federation at state education directorate entered 253 day on Friday.
The members of the federation are annoyed at the state government’s decision to change the ‘ Teacher recruitment guideline’ which dispensed with the practice of following a pattern in selection of Primary teachers in which the year wise seniority of doing the B.Ed degree was considered paramount in making the merit list for selection.
Addressing the Dharna, the general secretary of the federation, Balbir Bisht said that state government should release a recruitment advertisement to fill the vacant posts of primary teachers in government schools and the criteria of year wise seniority of doing the B Ed degree should be followed in the drive.
He said that the thousands of the unemployed B Ed –TET qualified candidates are agitated on unwarranted change in selection criteria of teachers.
He warned that the Federation would intensify its agitation if their one point demand of following the old pattern in selection of primary teachers is not accepted.
