Aggarwal for road levelling right after sewage lines laying

State Forest and Wildlife and Sports Minister Dinesh Aggarwal has directed officials to ensure that the road should be levelled without delay after laying of sewage lines to prevent public inconvenience. He said this while reviewing works being undertaken in his Dharmpur Assembly constituency under ADB urban and civic development project.

Aggarwal said that officials of ADB, JNNURM and Peyjal Nigam should work in coordination and lay special focus on maintaining quality in the works. He said that sewer works cause much inconvenience to the public because the ADB is not getting the road leveled.

Excavating roads for sewer works with JBCs often results in water lines being broken which should be repaired without delay to prevent inconvenience to the public. “As a part of the Government and a local resident, I get to hear a lot from the public regarding the sewage works so the officials should also execute their responsibilities efficiently,” said the minister.

He said that the public should benefit from the facilities being provided by the government. The officials were directed to ensure proper maintenance of roads and speed up pace of work where lacking. Aggarwal also said that care should be taken to ensure that sewerage is not released into rivers. The water being released from the treatment plants at present is not treated enough to prevent negative impact on the wildlife in the Rajaji national park, said the minister.
