Release of transfer list brought much needed relief to three IPS officers posted in different capacities at the State capital since their 'safe zone' remained intact. Deeply in love with Dehradun, the officers literally thanked God after seeing the transfer list that missed their names. Ever since buzz about transfer erupted, the officers were quite concerned.
The officers, posted in different capacities at State capital, don’t want to leave Dehradun for certain reasons. The officers, however, were in constant touch with the officials at the home department to know when the list is to be released. One of them used to make several calls to an official to know the status of transfer list.
The junior official politely had assured the officer of informing him immediately after the list was released to get rid of his calls. In the meantime, the IPS officers were also in touch with their political mentors to stop their transfer. A well placed source said that Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna’s tough stand over transfer threw wet blanket on their plan since their mentors said that the CM was taking no call on transfer and all the transfers being decided by him only.
Since then, the IPS officers were quite concerned. One of them, who want to live in Dehradun for some more months, even started preparations for leaving the city against his wish as he got information from his sources that he might be blessed with district police chief post.
The other one, who was eying ‘hot seat’ of Dehradun in the police department, was in regular touch with a senior IPS officer and a political leader to materialize his dream. The officer, known as suave in police corridors, was quite hopeful of succeeding to get the hot seat.
Third IPS followed wait and watch policy. Considered as extremely powerful in the police corridors, the IPS officer’s deep love for Dehradun is well known among his juniors and fellow officers. The officer was extremely concerned. But release of the transfer list brought much needed relief to the trio who successfully kept transfer at a bay.
