After catching 'kitty queen', police hunt 'kitty king'

Two days after police arrested the ‘kitty queen’ Gurpreet Kaur in connection with the alleged kitty fraud, a team of Haridwar police has left for Uttar Pradesh in search of her husband Savinder Singh who she claimed to have divorced.

The hunt on, police said that they are trying to locate him in western UP through  finding out the location of his mobile phone. Besides, movements of the family members and others close to him are on the scanner, police said.

It is learnt that the police team is on the lookout for the absconder  in cities  like Saharanpur, Meerut and Muzaffarnagar in western UP.

Those allegedly duped by the kitty couple said that the statement given by Gurpreet of having divorced her husband has scared them. “It is a clever ploy to avoid being forced to return to us our hard-earned money the couple has duped us of in the name of the kitty parties,” said one of them. They continued their stir outside GIG shopping Mall where the kitty parties used to be held on Friday too. Doubts still persisting over whether Gurpreet has really been taken into police custody, given the police’s shoddy past record on the matter, some women who were staging demonstration outside the mall were found  charging the cops deployed there to show evidences of the accused being taken into police custody.

Speaking of the matter, CO City Prakash Deoli said that they are launching a man hunt to trace and arrest Savinder. “He would be rounded up soon,” he said, adding that they were also trying to locate the areas in Kankhal where his family stays.
