The District and Session court has sent the alleged accused in a molestation case involving a minor to judicial custody till January 2. The Kotdwar police produced the accused Mukesh Kaptiyal,who is an advocate, on Thursday while taking him out of Pauri district jail where he was lodged after he was arrested.
Kaptiyal had been arrested on Wednesday after a case was registered against him on the basis of the complaint lodged by the parents of the minor survivor on Tuesday. Notably, Bar Association of Kotdwar slammed police for arresting the advocate under political pressure on trumped -up charge as part of a conspiracy.
The minor had been allegedly molested by Kaptiyal at a place near laxmi wedding point in Kotdwar when she was returning home after tuition on Monday.
