Admin reshuffle: CM sent a message of clean image

Published on:

In the recent reshuffle, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has sent message that he believes in young officer which is why he has appointed Secretary Dilip Jawalkar as Sugarcane & Sugar Industry, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Smart city, Dehradun and Garhwal Commissioner and Secretary to Governor Ravinath Raman has been given additional charge of Social Welfare, Home and Jail. With these two appointments CM has given message that he wants only clean image officer.

As we know that Chief Minister Rawat is giving full emphasis on Garhwal and smart city project. Even recently former Urban Development Minister had expressed disappointment with the State bureaucracy whosoever were taking care of smart city and others project like Swachha Bharat Abhiyan of Union Government. Now Jawalkar has been appointed there and he is being considered as strong officer. As we know that when he was appointed in Information Department then he had taken several corrective measures to plug the loopholes. As several projects like Rishikesh Karnprayag railway line and other projects are coming up in Garhwal division so Government has expressed confidence on him. It would be pertinent to mention here that on the issue of Jawalkar two senior bureaucrats have locked their horn. First was in favour of Jawalkar while other were in favour of other.

Similarly State law and order situation depends upon the Home Department. As we know that Principal Secretary Home Umkant Panwar has taken voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) so the post had become vacant. In this scenario Raman has been given three crucial posts i.e.  Social Welfare, Home and Jail. It is know to everyone that severe corruption has revealed in Social Welfare Department especially in scholarship scam so Government has expressed faith on him. He is having vast experience of Dehradun district because he has served the post of Dehradun District Magistrate twice and longest tenure he has served as DM, Dehradun.
