Taking cognisance on the mishap at the Max Super Speciality Hospital, Additional District Magistrate and State Sanitation Workers Commission secretary Harak Singh Rawat inspected the hospital here on Tuesday.
The commission chairman Bhagwat Prasad Makwana has also reprimanded the hospital management questioning how sanitation workers could be deployed for cleaning a sewerage treatment plant without safety equipment and proper training. He also directed the District Magistrate and police to take stringent action in the case.Makwana said that such incident has occurred in the past in Dehradun following which the commission had submitted recommendations to the State government about providing safety equipment and training to sanitation workers cleaning sewers. However, no action has been taken yet on these recommendations by the authorities, he added.
