S Ramaswamy, Additional Chief Secretary, Govt of Uttarakhand on Saturday released a book titled “MOBIlE ClOUD COMPUTING” co-authored by the two young and budding Engineers in his office in the presence of Shrihari, V-C of UPES and Arun Dhand, Director of Govt Relations & Media Affairs.

Conversing with Abhirup & Sarishma he discussed with them the havoc forest fires create during the summer months causing huge loss of already depleting green cover and advised them to develop a cutting edge software which could map out the most vulnerable forest zones along with their respective threat perceptions and provide some advance information on forest fires thereby enabling the custodians to take proactive actions.

To achieve something worthwhile is never too early neither it is ever too late if the dream is strong enough. This has been substantiated time and again and was proven one more time through the pioneering work of Abhirup Khanna and Sarishma both final year students of UPES. Abhirup hails from Uttarakhand, while Sarishma hails from Haryana.

They came together in UPES as classmates at ‘Centre for Information Technology’ four years ago in the year 2012 and would be graduating out with their respective B Tech Computer Science degrees with specialization in Cloud Computing this year.

In their second year they decided to jointly write a research paper on ’Mobile Cloud Computing’ and started exploring the various works already existing in the field and soon discovered that not a single book was available on “Mobile Cloud Computing”. This finding made them change their goal posts and they embarked on the pursuit of jointly authoring a book on this subject.
