On the orders of Director General (DG) of School education, the education department has taken disciplinary action against 11 department officers for failing to submit their travel plans for the month of May.
The DG has ordered officers concerned to enter adverse comments on the Annual Confidential Report (ACR) of these officers. The officers against whom the action is taken are assistant Education officer (AEO) Rikhnikhal Pauri Vinod Sundariyal, BEO Bhagwanpur Haridwar Naresh Sharma, AEO Khanpur Haridwar AK Choudhary, AEO Bironkhal Pauri NS Prasad, AEO Narayanbagar Chamoli RP Dimri, AEO Ramgarh Nainital Hemlata Joshi, AEO Haldwani Nainital Champa Bhonryal, BEO Kotabag Nainital Bhaskaranand Pandey, AEO Ramnagar Nainital Gaura Bangari and AEO Vinn Pithoragarh GS Jyala.
The DG school education D Senthil Pandian said that to improve quality of education the department on July 22 had asked all the division, district and block level officers to undertake regular inspection of schools.
The DG in his video conferencing meeting on April 9 had asked all the officers to submit their travel plans for the inspections and get them approved. Interestingly none of the officers of the department cared to get the travel plan approval on which the DG wrote a strongly worded letter on May 01, after which most of the officers submitted their plans.
However, the above mentioned officers did not bother to submit the plans and invited wrath of DG. The DG in his previous meetings and video conferencing interactions had repeatedly asked the officers to ensure that they should get their travel plans for a month cleared by the last date of previous month.
