The State Coordinator of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Uttarakhand, Harish Chandra Arya condemned the act of ink smearing on its leader Yogendra Yadav. Ink was smeared on the face of Yadav, a top party leader on Saturday at Jantar Mantar, Delhi, by a person who claimed to be a member of the party.
While condemning the ink smearing act, Arya said that the cowardly act showed the desperation of established parties on the spectacular rise of the AAP and urged party workers to be more vigilant to prevent such acts again. Arya also appealed people to come forward to establish real democracy in the country where actual power came in the hands of common people.
The State coordinator of the fledgling party said that party was finalising the list of the candidates for the remaining four parliamentary seats in the State. Arya himself is the lone official candidate declared by AAP and he would be contesting from Almora- Pithoragarh constituency in the forthcoming general elections. He said that the party was deliberating on the logistics for the elections and the work on selection of party workers for different committees for campaigning was in progress. The State Election Management Committee of the party met at Nanital on Sunday and deliberated upon the party preparations for the general elections.
