An accused arrested under the POCSO Act was successful in running away from police custody on Thursday, though he was arrested later in the evening by the police.
Superintendent of Police (city) Shweta Choubey said that an additional case will be registered against him for escaping from police custody.
According to the official sources a case was filed under the sections of POCSO Act in Patelnagar police station, in which the accused was arrested and was to be produced in the court. Before that police personnel took him to the hospital for medical check-up, where on the pretext of going to the washroom he ran away and was later caught by the police near Asharodi Chowk.
