Udham Singh Nagar police is facing a tough time with MlA from Udham Singh Nagar’s Gadarpur Assembly constituency, Arvind Pandey, who is wanted in a case of alleged assault on a Government official, remaining elusive even days after the alleged assault had taken place.
With reports of his surrender in a local court on Friday doing the rounds, Udham Singh Nagar police deployed heavy police force in Rudrapur’s Gandhi Park area. But he did not appear.
Udham Singh Nagar police conducting raids at different possible hideouts across the district till late Thursday night have come a cropper.
It may be recalled that a case has been registered against MlA Pandey and his associates on charge of allegedly assaulting a Government official.
Following the case, Udham Singh Nagar has mobilised its entire force to nab the MlA. But he is still at large. Even his mobile number is found to be switched off, as has been reported.
