Alleging irregularities during counting of votes in the students’ union election of SGRR (PG) College, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members gheraoed college principal VA Bourai and demanded recounting of votes on Monday.
It may be mentioned here that election in the college held on September 6. The election officer Pradeep Singh said that in his complaint, ABVP member and losing candidate for presidential position Vipin Kamboj stated that he was defeated by only 159 votes.
There were irregularities during counting of votes in the students’ union election. According to him, his complaint was referred to election grievance redressal committee and steps will be taken if complainant submits proof of alleged irregularities in the election.
