The activists of Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) burned the effigy of Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University administration here on Thursday in protest against inordinate delay in release of results.
The activists gathered at Karanpur Chowk near DAV College and raised slogans against the university officials for delaying the result. The former President of DAV student Union, Paras Goyal who led the agitators said that the thousands of the students who appeared as private candidates for different examination from the university are facing problems due to delay in results and when the results are declared the students had to further wait for the mark sheets. He said that these students are deprived of getting enrolled in other courses due to delay in results of this year’s examination. Goyal said that the university officials stationed in the regional office located at Doon University do not help the students. He threatened that the students would lock up the university regional office if the results are not released till October 20.
The activists later burned the effigy of university administration as a mark of their protest.
