Fighting to make a presence for itself in the bipolar politics of Uttarakhand, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to replicate its Delhi model in the State. The party would contest the assembly election of 2022 on the promise of free power and drinking water.
Addressing media persons here on Friday the State spokesperson of AAP, Ravindra Anand said that the people are viewing Delhi as a role model today and the party would strive to ensure that the people of Uttarakhand also get the facilities provided to people of Delhi.
Anand had met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia during his recent Delhi visit said that both these leaders. He said that in the meeting aspirations of people of Uttarakhand were discussed and a plan of action of the party in the state was discussed.
Anand said that Kejriwal expressed surprise that despite producing surplus electricity and having 13 power projects including Tehri dam the Uttarakhand government is not able to provide free power to the people of the State.
“The Delhi CM also expressed surprise that the people of Uttarakhand are forced to pay huge bills of water even as rivers like Ganga and Yamuna originate there and the state has plenty of natural resources.
Manish Sisodia was of the view that every child has a right to education but the education system in Uttarakhand is in pathetic condition,’’ Anand said.
The AAP leader further added that the government schools should be developed and made role models so that no education minister should ever say that the parents should get their wards admitted in government schools if they want cheap education.
