AAP joins in stir over 19-yr-old boy's mysterious death

In connection with suspicious death of a 19-year-old Adhoiwala (Raipur) resident Ankit, dozens of local residents, deceased’s parents and the Dehradun district unit of the Aam Aadmi Party protested at SSP office on Wednesday and demanded immediate arrest of another accused in the case.

Raipur police had arrested sub-inspector Sompal, who was posted as one of the security men of Khanpur MlA Pranav Singh ‘Champion’ on charges of causing a boy to commit suicide.

According to protesters, the postmortem report of the deceased does not disclose how Ankit had died. AAP Dehradun district coordinator Sanjay Bhatt said that the party has decided to carry out rally from Doon Hospital to Collectorate on Thursday seeking arrest of another accused in this case. He alleged that SI Sompal, his wife and son Deepak assaulted and later forced Ankit to commit suicide.

Police have not taken this case seriously because SI was gunner of an MlA. He alleged that police are not conducting fair investigation in this case due to political pressure.
