While Aam Admi Party is still dithering over whether to contest or not the upcoming Assembly election barely a few months away,
the breakaway faction of the party in the State known as ‘Hamara Uttarakhand Jan Morcha’ would put up its candidates to challenge the electoral duopoly of BJP and Congress.
Stating that the party would announce the names of its candidates soon, the election patron of the newly formed party Anup Nautiyal, said on Saturday that he would contest from Cantt Vidhan Sabha seat. He said he would soon launch a foot march in the constituency to directly contact the electorate.
He alleged that the conditions of Cantt Vidhan Sabha constituency in terms of developmental front are pitiable. He mentioned poor road connectivity, poor sanitation, poor traffic management, rampant drug peddling and rising unemployment affecting life of the people of the constituency.
“I would leave no stone unturned to transform the constituency developmentally if elected. My party members would reach out to the people of the constituency, telling them about the development works we propose to do. The party’s election manifesto would be drafted soon,” he said.
Nautiyal further said that the names of other candidates to contest on his party’s tickets would be announced soon. “Things are now in progress,” he added.
Saying that their thrust would be to rid the state of the cankers of corruption, he said stringent actions would be taken against the corrupt
politicians and the Government officials in case his party is mandated to form the Government in the State.
Besides, the people would be given all assistance to have their basic needs fulfilled, he said, adding that they would strive to restore the old glory of Dehradun. “Dehradun has lost its old heritage, a thing that all attached to the city regret,” he said.
Nautiyal said that his party would reach out to the people, seeking their opinion on the matter of right utilisation of the MlA local area development funds.
“This issue will be kept before the people living in all the 17 wards of the Cantt Constituency. I would meet local MlA Harbans Kapoor to seek detailed accounts of the expenditure of MlA local area development funds of the constituency,” he said, adding that his party would pledge to better things regarding education, medical services, power, peyjal and others.
