In view of sluggish progress of preparing Aadhaar cards in the rural areas, the district administration, Pithoragarh, has directed the Aadhaar card agencies to extend their Aadhar card preparation process, particularly in the remote areas, across the district. As the officials concerned of the Pithoragarh district administration said, two firms which were hired to prepare the Aadhar cards, have been preparing them only for those residing in the urban areas of the district. Thus, the people living in rural areas are not getting their Aadhaar cards prepared so far, the officials concerned added.
Taking note of this, the district administration Pithoragarh has now directed the aforesaid Aadhaar card agencies to expand the process in rural areas so that the people living there can get their cards prepared. Notably, in spite of the Government's emphasis on arming every citizen with the said Aadhar card as early as possible, the Aadhar card preparation process seems to be going slow in the region. The Aadhar card preparation exercise began in Pithoragarh in October 2014. But the agencies concerned are yet to reach out to those living in the remote and the rural areas of the district.
Similarly, the Aadhaar card preparation exercise began in Nainital district in July 2014, but people are still experiencing a tough time to get their Aadhaar card prepared in different parts of the district. long queues seen outside the offices of the Aadhar card agencies signify how things are going on.
