A play based on the struggle of a girl from a middle class family at Institute of Engineers auditorium on Thursday left all present thoughtful. The theme of the play was meant to give the message of ‘save girl child and educate girl child’. The play was staged by an organisation Sanskar Bharti.

The play was composed by Yogesh Tripathi and directed by Narendra Ahuja who has been into the theatre for the past 25 years, doing solo shows under the title "Haashiya" all over India. Speaking to The Pioneer, Ahuja said, "Around 90 per cent of the people are living on the margins and they wish to come into prominence, adopting fair and foul means, but in the end, he realises that all his efforts were futile. The only refuge is in the realisation of the Self."

The play was based on the life of a conservative girl from a mediocre family undergoing hardships but finally attaining fame by adopting theatre for her livelihood.

Paarth Chadha, a student, said after watching the play that his outlook towards the girls has changed. “Now I feel respect for them. I would treat  my sister with respect too now. Earlier, I used to nag her and draw unjust comparison,” he said.
