The House was informed on Wednesday that as many as 96 people are being provided with gunners as they are facing threat to their lives. Revealing this while replying to a question asked by MlA Madan Kaushik during Question Hour on Wednesday, the Home Minister said while 49 persons were being provided gunners at the district level the rest are being provided the same at the State level.
In a supplementary question, Kaushik alleged that the State Government has been providing gunners many times more than they claim. The home minister assured that he would enquire into the matter, saying that the list would be shortened after things are rightly screened.
