In a cold blooded murder, a 70-year-old woman, who was a relative of Inspector General of Police (law and Order) Ram Singh Meena, was hacked to death in her house at Sewla Kalan, Majjra area under Patel Nagar police station, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The incident came to light on Saturday noon, police said.
Police said that the deceased Rajesh Sharma was wife of noted physician Dr JP Sharma. She was alone in the house at the time of incident, police said. Police further added that finding her alone in the house, unidentified criminals barged into the house and attacked her with a sharp-edged weapon.
Police said that Dr Sharma owns a clinic in Majra. In the morning, he left for the clinic. Then his wife Rajesh was alone in the house. After sometime, the housemaid reached the gate of the house and rang the bell. However, there was no response from inside. The lady pressed the ring bell once more. But once more her efforts to get response from the house failed to bring any result.
Police said that the woman immediately called up Dr Sharma on his mobile. She narrated the whole story to Dr Sharma. The information left Dr Sharma in a sort of anxiety and apprehension. He immediately closed the clinic and left for his house. As Dr Sharma entered the house, he was shocked to see the inside the room. His wife was lying in a pool of blood.
Dr Sharma anyhow consoled himself and informed the police about the incident. Simultaneously, he also called up IG (law and Order) Ram Singh Meena and apprised him of the incident. Soon after receiving the information, police reached the spot. In the meantime, IG Meena, DIG Amit Sinha, SSP Kewal Khurana, and SP city Jagdish Chandra along with his team reached the spot.
The senior officials carried out the inspection of the spot. Police team immediately called a dog squad and finger print expert squad that seized the articles to collect the finger prints. Moreover, the police took the body into possession and sent it for the post mortem.
SP city Jagdish Chandra said that several teams have been deployed to arrest the accused involved in the incident. The police teams got some vital clues in the incident and soon the murderers would be behind the bar. Prima facie loot appears to be motive of murder.
