As per the statistics provided by the Uttarakhand women commission regarding the cases filed about the crimes against the women, while the total cases filed from various districts under different categories were 1502 in 2017 572 cases have been filed in the commission till June 2018 out of which 84 have been solved and 488 have remained pending.
In 2017, total cases of dowry filed were 208 from various districts. Most of the cases filed were from Dehradun 43, Udham Singh Nagar 36 and Nanital 10. Total cases of dowry deaths were four and the maximum cases were from Udham Singh Nagar and Dehradun. As far as rape is concerned, 30 cases were filled and most of them were from Haridwar 12 and Udham Singh Nagar six. As for sexual assault, total 78 cases were filed, including Dehradun 36, Haridwar 18, and Udham Singh Nagar 10. Total cases of mental assault were 311 of which 173 cases were filed from Dehradun, 31 from Haridwar and 33 from Udham Singh Nagar. As for domestic violence, total 99 cases were filed, including Dehradun 52, Haridwar 11 and Udham Singh Nagar 13. Under land disputes, 59 cases were filed, including Dehradun 26 and Udham Singh Nagar 10. Under sexual assault, 33 cases were filed, including Haridwar 12 and Dehradun five.
Under the protection of life and property, 295 cases were filed with the maximum cases being registered from Dehradun 75, Haridwar 96, and Udham Singh Nagar 61. Under child marriage, four cases were filed out of which three were from Dehradun. Under economic exploitation, total 32 cases were filed and the maximum cases were from Dehradun 15, Haridwar three and Udham Singh Nagar three. Under eve teasing, total 44 complaints were filed out of which 10 were from Dehradun and 15 were from Udham Singh Nagar.
As per the report, the number of registered cases in 2018 has come down as compared to 2017. The number of cases filed under dowry was 69 and most of them are from Dehradun 13, Haridwar 16 and Udham Singh Nagar 23. Only one case has been filed under dowry death. Under rape, total nine cases have been filed while Haridwar has accounted for four. Under sexual assault, total eight cases have been filed with Dehradun accounting for three. Under mental harassment, total 113 cases have been filed and 38 cases are from Dehradun and 17 from Haridwar. Under domestic violence, total 73 cases have been filed and 38 of them are from Dehradun and 13 from Haridwar.
Under land dispute, total 18 cases have been filed while Dehradun accounts for seven. Under sexual assault, only one case has been filed. Under the protection of life and property, around 151 cases have been filed, including 43 from Dehradun, and 33 from Udham Singh Nagar.
No case has been filed under child marriage. Under financial exploitation, total 14 cases have been filed with Dehradun accounting for nine. Under eve teasing, 15 cases have been filed with Dehradun accounting for five.
