The 48th regional sports meet of schools of Kendriya Vidhyalaya Sangathan (KVS) culminated at KV ONGC on Thursday. The day started with the assembly of participants, escort teachers and venue officers.
In under 17 - 400 meter race, Poorva of KV Raiwala bagged first position while Vanshika of KV Roorkee and Harshita of KV Almora III got second and third positions respectively. The team of K V Dharchula won the relay race relegating the KV Rishikesh and K V ONGC to second and third place respectively. In 400 meter, Under 19 event, Priya of KV Dharchula emerged victorious; Jaishikha of KV Rishikesh was second while Meenakshi of KV Kausani stood third.
The Chief Guest of the valedictory ceremony was Regional Officer Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Dehradun, Ranveer Singh.
The Principal of the host school D S Negi welcomed the Chief Guest and Assistant Commissioner, KVS RO, Dehradun region, P K Tamta.
In his address, Ranvir Singh lauded the efforts of winners and participants and hoped that they will secure many laurels in future.
The Principal of the K V ONGC D S Negi appreciated the participants by emphasising on the fact that participation is more important than winning. He said that the escort teachers executed their duties in a dedication.
