Dehradun police have arrested four persons for allegedly abducting and murdering 35–year old Vipul Tyagi, a property dealer based in Clement Town, Dehradun.

Property dispute involving crores had resulted in the murder, police suspected.

The accused have been identified as Sahdev Tyagi, native of Saharanpur, Mukesh Tyagi, native of Muzaffarnagar, Tofiq, resident of Patelnagar and Parbinder Sharma, native of Dilshad Garden, New Delhi.

Interrogation revealed that two of the accused and the victim are related to one another and involved involved in the same business. Dispute over profit sharing had triggered the murder, said Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police Pushpak Jyoti on Saturday.

Investigation revealed that Vipul who had been missing since May 28 had been strangled to death by Mukesh Tyagi and Sahdev Tyagi the same day and had been cremated

immediately after being murdered in Meerut.

The deceased’s father Shyam Krishan Tyagi had earlier registered a complaint in Clement Town Police Station on May 28 late evening, stating his son Vipul who had gone with Sahdev, Sanjeev, Rahul and Mukesh Tyagi in a car around 6.15 pm, had not returned. The mobile phones of those who were with him were found switched off.

Acting on a tip- off, police arrested Sahdev Tyagi, Mukesh Tyagi and Parbinder Sharma from Sai Mandir, Mohababewala, Dehradun. They are said to have confessed the crime.

Mukesh Tyagi is said to have confessed that Vipul not giving them their share of some property deals had provoked them to murder him.  Vipul was accordingly called by Mukesh at Ravi Dhaba, Niranjanpur and he was forced to board a car. While going towards Haridwar, they had strangled Vipul to death in the car itself. His body was brought in Meerut where the cremation was done.

Parbinder Sharma provided shelter to Sahdev.
