39 of 364 samples test positive for dengue

Published on:

The lone technician deployed by the health department to conduct confirmatory test of dengue, the Enzyme linked Immunosorbent Assay (ElISA) in Dehradun returned to work on Thursday.

The samples of 364 patients were tested for ElISA on the day out of which 39 samples were found positive for the disease. It is worth mentioning here that the ElISA test was done after an interval of three days in the lab of the hospital.  With these cases the number of people affected by dengue in the State capital mounted to 1156.

Interestingly the report of the State health department on dengue failed to depict increase in number of cases on Thursday which is enough to highlight lack of coordination among the district and State health department officials.

Meanwhile the Principal of the Government Doon Medical College Dr Pradip Bharati Gupta released two lab technicians from the medical college to assist the technicians of the lab of the associated hospital on Thursday. He said that the Head of Department (HOD) of Pathology would allot work to these technicians.
