A 37-year old woman died in a road accident reported late night on Wednesday while others including her husband were gravely injured and are being treated presently. The accident was reported in Lakshman Jhula police station in Pauri district.
According to the information provided by local police, the deceased has been identified as Geeta Devi. She died on the spot while the injured are her husband 46-year old Vinod Kumar, their daughter 18-year old Kajal and niece 22-year old Indresh. The injured are being treated at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh.
According to the police, the family was coming back from a marriage function when the driver lost control of the car and they fell off the hillside into a 100 metre deep gorge. Police are still investigating the reason behind the mishap.
