Dehradun police has arrested on Friday a 32-year-old person on the charge of raping a 12-year-old girl. The accused was sent to Suddhowala jail after he was presented in the court. The incident was reported from Ajitnagar Babugarh, Vikasnagar on Thursday evening.
The victim’s parents had registered a complaint and a case under section of 376 of IPC and sections ¾ of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered in the police station, Vikasnagar.
In the written complaint, the complainant stated that the survivor was alone in her home on Thursday evening when she was raped by one Satish alias Karan, who was living on rented accommodation in the neighbourhood. When her mother got back she called the girl. Having got no response, she got up the roof to find her being raped by the accused on Thursday evening. As she screamed the accused fled. The minor told her mother that he had raped her twice earlier.
Vikasnagar CO SK Singh said that a team led by lady- SI was formed and medical of the minor was conducted. Her statement was also recorded under section 164 of CrPC before a magistrate. Police acted swiftly and accused was arrested from Harbertpur late Thursday night. The accused was produced in the court and later sent to jail on Friday, he added.
