A man, alongwith his sister-in-law has been arrested for murdering his own elderbrother. The murder was committed on September 18. The accused is alleged to have had been in illicit relation with the woman, wife of the deceased, Mehndi Hasan, who was hacked to death. Police arrested Nabi Hasan and 30- year- old Mohsena, the wife of the murdered, on Wednesday. The murder was committed in Teliwala village of Haridwar district, police said, adding that Mohsena had perhaps instigated Nabi to murder his brother.
SP rural Parmender Dobhal said, “Nabi spoke to his brother’s wife on phone before the murder. We recovered a knife which was used for murder. Both had illicit relations for the past few years. They wanted to marry.”
Mehndi Hasan,32, was murdered at his residence in Roorkee. His wife Mohsena had gone to her maternal home. Nabi Hasan stabbed his brother to death. Nabi confessed the crime, police said.
