A three-day old baby girl was found abandoned on the stairs of Hathipul near Har ki Paidi. The child is under the care of district hospital.
The infant is healthy said the police and the search for parents is on. Speaking to this correspondent, Haridwar police station in-charge, Praveen Singh Koshiyari said, “The Infant seems to be three days old. Someone left her on the stairs of Hathipul on Thursday morning. When the people in the surroundings heard the cries of the child they informed us. The child was found in unattended situation with a milk bottle kept on her side. Chowki in-charge of Rodi Belwala, Thakur Singh Rawat took the custody of the child. " The police are checking the CCTV camera footage in an attempt to trace the person who abandoned the infant.
This is not the first time that a child was found abandoned on banks of the Ganga. In the past, there have been cases of differently abled children being found abandoned near the Ganga.
