With Dehradun reporting 22 of the total 44 COVID-19 cases in the state so far, the district administration has continued to keep more than three lakh people under community surveillance. On the directions of Dehradun district magistrate Ashish Kumar Srivastava, till now the teams of teachers, Asha workers and Anganwadi workers have done the work of community surveillance of around 3,85,226 people. Informing more about the surveillance, the Dehradun Chief Development Officer (CDO) Nikita Khandelwal said that two types of surveillance are being carried out by the administration.
The first type is community surveillance which is being carried out by the teams of Asha workers, Anganwadi workers and teachers who directly interact with the suspected patients of COVID-19 especially in the red zone areas like Bhagat Singh Colony, informed Khandelwal.
The second type of surveillance is being done through phones with the help of data available to the administration, added the CDO. On Sunday, 37 teams contacted 202 people through phones. However, only one local was found with the symptoms of cough and cold among other symptoms by the community surveillance team which is quite less than on the other days. As per the officials, the medical team has been informed about it.
