After the success of first Dehradun International Film Festival, the locals will once again get a chance to meet their favourite film stars on the occasion of second Dehradun International Film Festival. In a press conference, Rajesh Sharma, Director (DIFF) told that the festival will start from 9 September 2016 and will end on 11 September 2016. During this span, a total of 25-30 films will be showcased in Silver city and on 10 September some of the movies will be showcased in Tula Institute, Selaqui. On this occasion film celebrities like Pooja Bhatt, Shushma Sheth, Satish Kaushik, Jimmy Shergil, Hemant Pandya, Manisha Koirala etc will also be present.
During these three days of film festival various local producers, singers and actors will get a chance to showcase their talent and also various Uttarakhand regional films will also be showcased which will not only promote our regional films but will also help in the promoting Uttrakhand’s beautiful locations for bollywood films. Rajesh Sharma also quoted that the aim for this film festival is to promote Uttarakhand’s talent in bollywood industry. Celebrities from the state like Himani Shivpuri, Archna Puran singh, Urvashi Rautela, Niharika Singh etc. are inspiration to Uttarakhand youth. Recently ‘Shivaye’ starring Ajay Devgan was shot at Mussorie and in past few years a lot of big banner movies have been shot in Uttarakhand.
