About two lakh devotees visited Kainchi Dham in Bhawali on the occasion of the annual Kainchi Dham Mela on Friday. Devotees of Neem Karoli Baba could be seen arriving here to seek blessings till late in the evening in considerable numbers. This annual fair is held every year since the seer installed the idol of lord Hanuman here on June 15, 1962. On Friday, after the worship in the shrine early in the morning, distribution of Prasad began at 8 AM and by 1 PM more than 60,000 persons had partaken of it. The occasion saw a long queue of devotees from Bhawali to Kainchi with local shopkeepers and other setting up stalls providing cold drinks and water to the devotees. In addition to the security arrangements, the police also facilitated a proper traffic plan which helped in prevent major traffic congestion in the area on the occasion.
