State police facing fund crunch
Dehradun: State police facing fund crunch to meet its basic infrastructural requirements aside from meeting the day- to-day expenses, the top brass of the department has decided to re-send a proposal to the state administration, seeking around 50 per cent of the total collection of penalties imposed on the violators of the traffic rules, said state director general of police Anil K Raturi on Tuesday. However, he informed that the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had assured the department that funds would be released to meet the required infrastructure.
One person dead, another injured in accident
Dehradun: One person died while another was injured when the bike they were sitting on was hit by a city bus at Dhalawala, Sahastradhara, under Rajpur police station on Tuesday evening. The deceased has been identified as Balbeer while the injured is Majhar, native of Saharanpur. Both were admitted in Doon Hospital where Banbeer was declared brought dead while the injured Majhar was referred to CMI Hospital from Doon Hospital. The police has seized the bus and arrested the driver.
Police secured judicial remand of accused in ATM cloning
Dehradun: In connection with ATM cloning case involving around 100 complainants, Dehradun police have secured judicial remand of one of the accused Anil Kumari, now languishing in Suddhowala jail with 24 cases tagged to her in Nehru Colony police station. However, three other accused- Rambeer, Ramveer Singh and Sunil- are still at large, Moreover, police have secured arrest warrant of the above three accused on the case registered under sections-379/411/420/467/468/471/120b of IPC and sections 65/66 of IT Act in Nehru Colony police station. Police also secured permission to seize the properties of the absconders under section 82 of CrPC. Nehru Colony police station in-charge Rajesh Sah said that team members have been sent to Haryana to arrest the accused trio and to seize the property.
