Enigmatic ‘Guru’

A person who has earned the sobriquet 'Guru', boasts that the most powerful man of the State acts at his bidding and once he turns his face away from him the boss would lose power. Given his uncanny power over the man who runs the show, the Guru managed to be appointed as  vice-president of a board with no norm being followed. When the department officials dare ask him about his field of expertise he snubs them, saying that he is no less than the king maker.  When asked where he stays, he brags that he is staying in Bijapur guest house. Unhappy with being provided with 160 liters of fuel per month, the Guru asked the  district administration to have the departmental vehicle he has been availing surrendered and to provide him with Rs 40,000 per month as per the Government norms. Now, he is out to have an IAS close to him appointed as a secretary in the department he is literally  running courtesy his being the king maker. The corridors of the Babudom are now abuzz with stories of the enigmatic figure who is casting his charm everywhere.

Importance of looking young

In the wake of the BJP top brass deciding to impose bar on  the leaders crossing 75 years from holding important posts in the party as well as the Governments it leads, a State party leader has recently gone abroad to have  hair  transplantation to cover his bald head. The objective is clear. He  is keen on looking energetic to fox the leadership in not axing  his name from the  nomination list for the upcoming Assembly election. To impress the leadership that he is still looking youthful, he has circulated his photos after his bald head was duly covered with  transplanted  hair. However, a question crops up. Would the saffron brass choose to implement its newly introduced age-  norm for the crucial Assembly election barely a few months awayIJ In case it is  serious on the matter  the state party's  campaign is likely  to lose steam. For, the leader who has the mettle in him to prove a match for immensely resourceful Harish Rawat would be nowhere in the battle as he has well crossed past the age bar. If the party high command proves lenient the leader with new-made hair stands a chance to receive dividends for the  pains he has taken to look  young.
