CM’s eunuch masterstroke

Frustrated with police paying no heed, a woman moved   state women commission, hoping that as it is meant to champion the cause of the women, it would prove different.  The fight was a tough one with an IAS being involved.  The commission on its part brought the woman and the IAS across the table to hammer out a compromise. Seemingly tired over the unequal fight, the woman finally gave in to the commission-brokered deal. The IAS was made to apologise. The IAS genuflecting to apologise made it clear that he was on the wrong side of things. Now the question is-is the commission here to broker mutually agreed dealIJ Such things would not definitely shore up the reputation of the commission and help the hapless to have confidence in it for redressing their grievances. One may wonder whether the dispute ended this way as because an IAS was involved. Some opine the Chief Minister Harish Rawat has done the right thing by foisting eunuch Rajni Rawat as deputy chairperson of the state women commission.  “The CM’s uncanny capacity to grasp things has manifested again,” quipped one.   

Whats app embarrassment

State chief secretary N Ravishankar instructed the Babus to get connected through Whats app so that no gap among the departments existed and timely action was taken in case of exigency. Inspired, the Babus sprang up and started sharing some unofficial comments or messages to flaunt their extra updates. However, the battle-hardened CS having stints in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi,, who is now  nearing his superannuation, can hardly be caught with chaff. He told the Babus in their face that he was  unhappy with their performance in the realm of  file execution despite their promptness in availing Whats App.  Red-faced, the Babus promptly closed their Whats App group.
