A spell of rains accompanied by gusty winds in the afternoon on Saturday has brought relief to the residents of the city who had been suffering from a prolonged phase of blistering heat. The mercury which had been hovering for the past few days to the neighbourhood of 40 degrees dipped by a few notches on Saturday afternoon as a fallout of the rains. If the weathermen are to be believed more rains are in store for Dehradun for the coming two days.
According to the director, Meteorological Centre of Dehradun, Anand Sharma, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.5 degrees while the minimum was 24. 4 degrees Celsius. He added that light to moderate rainfall, thunder storm and squall would occur at few places, particularly the hilly terrain, on Sunday. For Dehradun, the forecast is cloudy sky with possibility of rain/ thunderstorm.
