Following Nagar Prikrama in the ongoing Jhanda Mela on Friday, the traffic system was practically thrown out of gear.
In view of ongoing Vidhan Sabha session, the district police had raised barricadings in and around the Vidhan Sabha areas and they had also changed some routes. Policemen were deployed at crossing to resolve traffic at various crossings but vehicle users witnessed facing traffic jams through out the day.
The large number of pilgrims participated in the Nagar Prikrama during Jhanda Mela, students came out for appearing in their board examination and school going students caused traffic congestion at various crossings like MKP (PG) College crossing, Clock Tower, Saharanpur Chowk, Survey Chowk, Dilaram Chowk and other places in the city. The vehicle users had to spend the additional hours to reach their destination.
