'Modi Govt's initiatives will bear fruit in a year'

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh averred here on Saturday that the impact of a host of decisions the BJP-led NDA Government has taken over the past few months would be visible in the next one year or so. He reiterated that the Union Government would not discriminate between the BJP-ruled and non-BJP-ruled States in terms of development. Such discrimination weakens the fulcrum on which the Federal State stands. The nation cannot move forward with the States developmentally vegetating, he said.

Asked to spell out the Government's stance vis-à-vis Pakistan, Rajnath Singh said India, though a peace-loving country interested in having cordial relation with all, would not, however, take Pakistan breaching ceasefire regulations lying down.  We would give befitting reply to any challenge being thrown to our sovereignty, he said.
