CM rejects talk of Cabinet reshuffle

Published on:

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat met Congress president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi and appraised her of the developmental and other initiatives undertaken by the State Government especially for the disaster-affected people and areas. Talking to mediapersons after his meet with the party president, the CM rejected the possibility of a reshuffle in the State Cabinet though he did say that he had conveyed the views of the party leaders and members of Uttarakhand to the party chief.

It is pertinent to mention here that dissatisfaction has been rising in the party cadre in Uttarakhand especially in the areas represented by Cabinet Ministers from the Progressive Democratic Front- the coalition partner of the Congress in the State. Rawat said that he had informed the party chief about the various efforts undertaken by the State Government especially in the disaster-affected areas. He said that the party chief had expressed hope that the State would facilitate the desired improvement in condition of disaster affected areas. Rawat said that he had conveyed to her the sentiments of the party cadre of Uttarakhand which was of the view that sincere party workers should be accommodated either in the party’s organisational structure or in the State cabinet. However, the CM himself refuted any immediate plans for a cabinet reshuffle.
