Secretariat employees’ body calls meet

DEHRADUN: The recommendation of the Cabinet subcommittee, which was constituted to study the feasibility of creating new sections in secretariat, has made situation tougher than earlier; so secretariat employees association has called general body meeting to decide future course of action. Sources said that if government implements the subcommittee report, then reviewing officer (RO) and assistant RO (ARO) will have to do typing job as well because committee has recommended abolition of computer operators' post after creation of new sections. Reviewing officer along with ARO and computer operators were consistently putting pressure on state government and even they had gone on strike.

Following on their demand state chief minister Harish Rawat had constituted a cabinet sub committee led by state finance minister Indira Hridayesh. During the meeting the committee had invited the association member as well. They were demanding to create 36 new sections in the secretariat but Government created only 20 new sections. Thereafter they intensified their agitation and demanded remaining 16 to open soon.
