A light rainfall in the State Capital on Tuesday noon brought some relief to the residents from the heat being experienced for the last few days.
The Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre has forecast light to moderate rain/thunder storm at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Pauri, Chamoli and Bageshwar districts and light rain/thunder storm at isolated places in rest of Uttarakhand on Wednesday.
Cloudy skies throughout the day and light rainfall for a few minutes at noon brought the temperatures down by a few degrees bringing some temporary respite to the people.
Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre director Anand Sharma said that the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 33.8 degree C and 25.1 degree C respectively in Dehradun on Tuesday. The areas in higher altitudes like Tapovan, Malari, Joshimath, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Kailash Mansarovar route and Auli might have been received light to moderate rain on Tuesday. The weather forecast for Dehradun on Wednesday is partly cloudy sky and slight possibility of thunder cloud development/ light thunder shower in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 35 degree C and 25 degree C respectively on Wednesday in Dehradun.
