Himachal Pradesh Chief minister Virbhadra Singh launched  UPA’s game changer food security scheme christened as Rajiv Gandhi Ann Yojana from historic Ridge Ground of Shimla here and said that the selection process of BPl beneficiaries will be monitored. “Government will depute two observers per gram Panchayat to monitor the selection process of BPl beneficiaries in Gram Sabha as there are some complaints of exclusion of genuine people from BPl list,” said CM while launching Rajiv Gandhi Ann Yojna under Food security bill.

He said that people were free to complain before these observers about any irregularities  committed or not in the selection process of below poverty line (BPl) beneficiaries. “Government has received  grievances of people, who were deprived of benefit under Indira Awas Yojna,” he said, adding that if Panchayats in the state failed to benefit needy people, right of distribution of home subsidy would be divested from Panchayats.
