A youth died under suspicious circumstances on Tuesday in Jawaharnagar ward number three in lalkuan. The family member of the deceased lodged an FIR accusing a family in the neighbourhood of poisoning the youth. The police have sent the body for post mortem and started investigating the case.
Jawaharnagar resident Rakesh (20) had gone to the market for some domestic work on Monday afternoon. When he returned home he started foaming from the mouth. He was rushed to the hospital in Haldwani where he died while undergoing treatment.
According to the lalkuan Kotwali inspector in charge Vipin Chandra Pant, prima facie the death appears to be a case of suicide but the police is investigating it from various angles.
