Uttarakhand Vigilance department is mulling to set up two sub-sectors (vigilance) each in Garhwal and Kumaon region.
Sub-sector (vigilance) will be set up at Tehri, Pauri Almora and Pithoragarh. A proposal has been sent to the state government regarding the same, said ADGP (vigilance) Ashok Kumar.
It should be mentioned here that the vigilance establishment was set up under the Uttarakhand (UP Vigilance Establishment act 1965) Adaptation and Amendment Order 2002. Two sectors (vigilance) have already been set up in Dehradun and Haldwani. The primary function of the Vigilance Establishment is to bring relief to the common man by curbing corruption in the Govt departments and offices.
