Two students died when they met with an accident at Kanwali road on late Sunday night. The deceased Pithoragarh resident Hari Singh and Tinkle Gahlotra a resident of Himachal Pradesh, were the students of Uttaranchal Institute of Technology (UIT) located at Premnagar area and according to the available information were returning from a party organised to celebrate end of annual examinations.
The bike on which they were traveling skidded on a road bend on Kanwali road and hit a roadside platform. The duo was spotted by a patrol party of the police at around 2 am. The students were wearing helmet which probably would have saved their lives. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Kotwali police station SS Bisht informed that the police patrol party called up the 108 ambulance service and the injured students were taken to the Doon hospital.
