Two minor girls of a family were allegedly sexually assaulted by residents of the same village. Villagers who have been absconding since the crime was committed are said to be minors.
On September 8, to procure ADHAR card, both the girls aged around 15 and 17 years had gone to market in Vikasnagar along with their mother. After meeting the villagers at the markket, the mother asked the girls to go along with them who were on their bikes. They did not return home the same day but came the next day. They later narrated that they had been sexually assaulted. Taking cognisance of this, a case under 376 of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual offences (POCSO) Act was lodged against the accused in the Vikasnagar police station on Wednesday, informed SK Singh while taking to The Pioneer. Teams were formed and they has began searching the accused, he added.
