Two persond died when the jeep they were travelling in fell down a gorge at Tildarkhal ahead of Tunkhal on the lakshmanjhula- Dugadda road in Yamkeshwar Tehsil of Pauri district on Tuesday night at about 9 PM. As the information about the accident reached the Tehsil administration and lakshmanjhula police station, the police team and tehsil team reached the spot and started the rescue work. However, the teams found two dead bodies in the gorge. The dead bodies were brought to Rishikesh by the police team past midnight at 2.30 AM on Wednesday.
The lakshmanjhula police station SHO Pradeep Kumar Rana informed this correspondent that the road accident took place near Tunkhal on the lakshmanjhula Road of Yamkeshwar tehsil. The jeep fell into a deep gorge on Tuesday night with the two persons in it including the driver dying on the spot. Both the deceased persons were drivers with the Neelkanth taxi union. The two were identified as Yamkeshwar residents Vijendra Singh Rana and the jeep driver and owner Shailendra Singh.
