17-year-old found murdered at home

A young girl's body was discovered at her home in Palm City, Dehradun, on Sunday morning. This incident has created ripples in the colony because people got up early to participate in the International Yoga Day but could not go due to the discovery of the brutal murder. Her father KK Arora alleged that three youth including Ravi Rajput, who used to reside in the neighboring home as tenants might have committed the murder. Seventeen-year old Shalu Arora, who was a student of Olympus High school at GMS Road here was residing with her parents in Palm City. Her neighbor had given his house on rent and the tenant had allowed his cousin to stay with him. Prima facie evidence shows that the culprits may have attempted to kidnap her  since her hands was bound with rope. She seemed to have resisted because considering that the ground nearby was smeared in blood.

On Saturday night Shalu’s parents were sleeping in their bedroom while she was sleeping in the drawing room which is probably why her parents were not alerted to the intrusion and crime committed on her.The question being raised is how come no one was alerted when Shalu was resisting the culpritsIJ Was she gagged to prevent her cries from awaking her parents and neighbours who would have come to her rescueIJ Talking to the Pioneer SS Tomar, a resident of Palm City, explained that KK Arora is currently a property dealer and when he got at 6 amhe could not believe his eyes because his daughter was lying in pool of blood. Seeing this he went numb and then called his family friend Tomar through phone. Immediately after getting the phone call he rushed to the spot and then informed the police who then reached the spot. During investigation Arora’s neighbour provided the details of his tenants and police started investigation on this angle as well. Talking to The Pioneer CO Pankaj Gairola said that the police have managed to zeroed in on the suspected culprits and would probably be able to solve the case by Sunday night or Monday morning. Prima facie it seems the teenager fought hard against the culprits in vain. "Now we are sequencing the incident so we would not be able to disclose anything more because that may help accused indirectly," said Gairola.
