A fourteen year old boy lost his life after a tree uprooted in thunder storm fell upon him on Monday evening. District officials and police have considered it as a disaster-death and due compensation would be given to his family.
Son of a tea vendor in Gurukul Kangri University campus died after a tree fell on him. speaking to The Pioneer SDM Pratyush Singh said., “The family would be given ex-gratia amount since it is a death by natural calamity. SP city Navneet Singh Bhullar told The Pioneer that the deceased Ritik was helping his father at tea making when the accident occurred..We called a crane to remove the tree but the boy had died on the spot.”
A witness to the incident Mahesh said, “by the time crane came and removed the tree the boy had already breathed his last. He was admitted to district hospital by 108 ambulance but he was declared brought dead.”
