The Director-General (DG) of School Education has directed senior department officials to ensure that 132 surplus teachers in Dehradun district are posted without delay in the schools where their services are required. The DG gave these orders while taking a review meeting after mass inspection drive of schools done on May 13, at his office on Thursday.
On the issue of teachers posted in the schools where the subjects of their proficiency are not there, D Senthil Pandian said such teachers should be adjusted in the schools where they are relevant before the annual transfers. He asked the Chief Education Officer (CEO) should issue non utility certificates to those school buildings which are in dilapidated state.
The DG was informed that during inspection it was found that in the Primary school of Jhakhan of Raipur block the Mid Day Meal (MDM) was found to be less than required; similarly it was found that report cards of many schools located in the city were not prepared. Pandian asked the officers concerned to ensure that such discrepancies are not found again.
He said that the 32 inspectors posted in the district who are yet to be assigned any task should conduct regular inspections of the schools of their area and report to CEO. The DG ordered that BRC and CRC would not undertake any administrative work and focus on academic activities.
